Well, Doggyhat is banned, but he want to know: "I want to tye die my fretboard. How should I go about doing it on a budget of 22 dollars?" Can you answer it please?
I would paint it. That's the only way I can think of.
Paint it different colours, then put a clean coat over it.
you cant tie-dye a fretboard, considering its a wood not a textile...
^I know, but you could paint it to get the same effect, although the paint could eventually come off.
You might be able to do a swirl paintjob to get the same effect, porject guitar has a good tutorial.
You could tie-dye a peice of fabric, then add an assload of starch so it gets really stiff, then glue/epoxy it to the fretboard. the downside is you would have to re-do the inlays, or cut the fabicr VERY precisely
