Can anyone suggest some?

I've been playing 8 months and know sweet FA about tehory and scales and I want to start soloing and improv. aswell as increasing my speed.

you dont need to buy a book to learn the scales. you can find them online just type it into a search engine, guitar magazines also contain a lot of helpful tips, scales and theory as well

i would suggest a printer but im the same way with tabs . i suppose you could just go into a local music shop and browse around, but websites still can carry some good basic positions and scales
