My bandmate's father seems to believe that if he turns the gain on his Crate 65watt amp past 5, it'll blow the amp. True? False? I'm pretty sure it would be fine because my gain pretty much stays higher than that and my amp is fine.

Haha that's exactly what I said. We turned the gain up but his dad freaked out on him when he came home with it like that.

It was an amp his dad had lying around when my friend started playing so it was given to him. He's buying a new amp in a couple weeks, as am I.
