ok so i get to get another bass and i was wonderin what you all thought since most of you probably know more about bass than me. i been playin about a little more than year or so and play LOTS of red hot chili peppers, and just pretty much anything.

i was thinkin about a MusicMan SUB but i heard that the paint on the back of the neck isnt very comfortable.

i was also thinkin about a Jazz bass but they last fender i played when i slapped the e string would hit the pickups and make a horrible click sound that got really annoying.

any ideas or suggestions??

try them both out. personally i prefer the fender jazz, and apparently so does flea now, as now he seams to be using his american deluxe jazz exclusively live.

and jazz you can just change the set up on it, thicker strings, higher action, or just simply dont slap so hard, cause you dont need to slap hard at all.

well, if the SUB had piezos i would def get it, or if you could put them on afterward... but the jazz is a time tested classic so you know yuo'l have a good bass...
