Havent heard too much of their stuff, but I am told things like Heartwork are their best material. This correct or not?

^ Well its all opinion. Some people prefer their grind stuff while others prefer their melodic death material. I actually seem to prefer the latter.

Anyways, Carcass fucken rule. I love all of their stuff I heard.

Necroticism and Heartwork are teh sex.

I've only heard stuff from Heartwork and Swansong, but Heartwork is fucking brilliant!

Man, I really like that song. Too bad Trivium had to copy the drum intro for "Pull Harder".

I only have Necroticism. Very good record IMO.

If you like melo-death get that. I prefer the grind stuff personally but it's all good. Acctually now that I think about it more just get Necroticism it has the best of both types of Carcass IMO.

Personally I prefer their grind/death era to their melodic death stuff. But they rule.

I also like the grind/death era slightly more than their melo-death times. But besides trivium did anyone notice how CoB ripped off the drum intro from Corporeal Jigsore Quandry in Bodom Beach Terror?

I thought I'd be the first to point out that those two songs sound absolutely nothing like each other. They both have drum intros, but they very dissimilar.

Normally, I don't like songs with guttural vocals wherein you can't understand the words but Heartwork is very, very good. So far that's the only one I've heard. What do you recommend?

What do you think about Opeths soft singer, do you think they need that vocalist or is that wut makes them Opeth?

^ Well their only other melodic-death album is Swansong, so I suggest you check that out.

Swansong is a bit weak...something is missing in there. Although, "Go to Hell" and "Black Star" are cool tunes.

Heartwork isn't gutteral vocals - not by a long shot.

gutteral Carcass is Necroticism, and all releases prior to Necroticism.

Carcass sold out to Sony as their label after Necroticism, that's why you go "hey, these tracks arn't nearly as violent as I'd like them to be" when you read the track names, and lyrics for Heartwork.

I think Symphonies of Sickness is their best. That and Necroticism. They both kick ass. I love Bill Steer's Growling vocal's. Have any of you heard Fermenting Innard's from the peel session's? crazy ****.

As for Melodic Death, I prefer Arch Enemy
Haven't listened to their grind stuff yet though. What are some good songs of their grind phase to check out?

Since Angela joined the band mike has started to re-use riffs and leads he wrote in caracass.

Necroticisim and Heartwork are as good as older Arch Enemy, new AE can't compete with amotts older work.

IMO Mike didn't shine in either band, Steer and Chris Amott played much better leads...

I like Mike's leads more in Arch enemy... Of course chris and steer are good too
