I don't know where to put this, but I want to learn bass. I don't why, but I do. I already know guitar fairly well, so I figured oh I have some money, lets try something new.

But I realized...I don't know a single thing in bass guitar. (not how to play I mean like what kinds of bass guitars are out there and which ones are good for my style)..so i'll ask you great people of UG. I'm looking for not a completely begginers bass (I mean I know guitar so I do want a fairly decent bass)...something around maybe 300-350$ Canadian? Music styles from Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine, Killswitch Engage, AFI...Punk, emo, metal..whatever in there, I want something versatile. So thanks in advance.

Johnson's naturally have a small kink in them, but if you've got a ninety-degree bend in it you should get it checked.

But hey, at least you could piss round corners.

well, I dont know exactly how much 350 Canadian is, but I'm guessing its around 300 US or so, maybe more maybe less...

For you're style of hard rock/punk/emo/metal/whatever I think an Ibanez will be a great choice...You can try some Peaveys too, those are great for their price...here are some links to some basses to look out for.

those are a few good basses in your price range, worthy of a look-see IMO...but the important thing is that you go to an instrument shop and play around to find which bass you like the most, because as you probably know (from your guitar playing experience) it is very possible to find a decent squier or other brand instrument that you might normally stay away from....speaking of staying away from, dont go for any Rogue basses, they are very inexpensive but are very bad quality as well...horrible basses...
