i was looking at these badcat amps and they are extremely expensive. are they any good? what kind of music are they for? what kind of sound do they have?

They are amazing amps. They have different models with different tones. My business partner has a Hot Cat head and I really like the tones he gets from it. Only you can decide if they are worth the money to you.

BadCats are incredible sounding boutique type amps. Different models have different tones, covering everything from Marshall to Fender and Vox. Once you get involved with amps like a BadCat it's tough to move on. You'll gas for Roccafortes, Splawns, Aikens, Diezels, and Top Hats. Great tones to be found, for a price.
It's a fine line between clever and stupid.
