I am thinking of changing the pickup configuration on an old strat copy i have. which would mean making a new pickguard. I am wondering if i could make it out of aluminium, instead of the white plastic one that is currently on there. i noticed that there is what looks like aluminium foil on the bottom of the old pickguard where the switches are.
If i make the pickguard out of aluminium, will it cause the guitar to hum or anything?

Aluminum (aluminium for the brits of the forum ) is non magnetic, so I see no problem with it.

Yes you can. Infact they sell aluminum pickguard. Tehy are EXPENSIVE though.

Chrome it! Make it mirror like. Trust me, you will get more use using hte gutiar to defend yourself from the hordes of hot groupies wanting to touch your prety guitar!
