I have been meaning to ask this for a while and now ive finally had the time to do it.
Lets look at the F Major Chord, the fingering is

-1----------------------------------E
-1---------------------------------B
-----2-----------------------------D
--------3---------------------------G
--------3--------------------------A
-1---------------------------------E

The 33 not being barred. Would I barre the whole first fret or barre the three strings alone. I thought i would barre the whole thing, since the second option would be a little bit complicated.

EDIT: Yep, confused my fingers =)

You run your index finger over every first fret

Then your ring finger on 3rd fret, A string

Your middle finger 2nd fret G string

Then finally pinky finger 3rd fret, D string.

You want to bar every string at the first fret, so that you can quickly switch to Minor and 7th chords, and more.

Hope I understood your question and helped.

Barre the whole first fret. I'd be amazed if you could barre just the 3 strings.

horizon blade, its ring on 3rd on the A, pinky on the 3rd of D, and middle on the 2nd of G plus the index barring the 1st

You can barre the 3's, but you have to make a crazy ass bend with your finger and it hurts like hell. It's easier to use your 3rd and 4th fingers.

People don't like Dave Mustaine because he created something that owned Metallica in just about every single aspect of thrash metal.
