lmao this may seem a bit of a strange question. what type of chair is best to sit on when practicing?(stool, cushioned, no-back, etc). when i play sittin down after a while my back hurts and i must stop and honestly i think it is from my chair. any suggestions for new chairs are appreciated.

Anychair really, just try and sit up straight and elevate your right leg by propping your right foot up on something (or whichever leg your guitar is resting on). I always hunch over the guitar a little and I think most do. Just make sure you get some practice standing up too.

Go for a something like a rocking chair without the arms. those work best for me aleast because i have a V and you can't really set it on you lap it has to hang off you.

Yeah, try it. If my feet are both flat on the ground I cant really sit up straight and play a guitar on my lap, but if my legs elevated I kinda sit up straight and lean a bit.

I got my stool custom made from flame maple, and it is stained blue, with a black kashmir seat, I ussually like to play with my pants off

lazy-boy recliner, it's kinda like standing, only horizontal instead of vertical

my mom found me sitting in the kitchen, eating Corn Flakes from the floor. when she asked me what I was doing, I just roared at her and ran up to my room.

I just sit on the couch or on my bed. I'll just lean against the headboard and just play scales over and over for finger strength and speed.

i use my computer chair, but the arms fold back so i can get them out of the way to play

like said, if its a stool keep good posture, and get one with a foot rest.

if ur back hurts put it on the left knee.

also the gliding (armless) guitar players chair looks pretty comfy.
u can just buy a cheap glider and saw off the arms tho.

The best sitting setup is a simple stool with light cushioning. Perfectly flat with
no slant. Add to that a footrest. Then there's the question of playing "classical"
style with guitar on left leg, or casual with guitar on right. I prefer classical because
the guitar has the most support that way.

Don't overlook a footrest. You don't really want to be sitting with your foot on your
toe so the guitar is high enough.

If I'm not sitting correctly, I'll play lying in bed or on the couch. That's pretty bad
though. You can't really reach the entire neck very well that way. oh well..

I sit on my bed and occasionally prop my foot up on my amp. If my back starts to hurt i play laying down

though I really do find myself in the lazy-boy with one of my guitars quite often, I have a drum throne I use. It's a padded stool with a seat that swivels and is adjustable in height. I use it at the keyboards as well.
