Terrapin and Golden Hair are great songs

However, my favorite song is Apples and Oranges

Solo, I'll have to go with Dominoes or Dark Globe. With Floyd, I like Lucifer Sam. I also really love John Frusciante's cover of Jugband Blues, but the original Floyd cut doesn't do much for me.
Listen to mah discs.

And coming soon, THE CLEVER DEVILS VS. THE BLONDES.

Vote for me in the

See Emily Play is the best Barrett song by a mile.

Other than that, they do no harm. Unless you play a seriously crappy game, you know, like Glover. He was a ****ing glove. Seriously.

never thought i could lose so much respect for a n00b, with just one post...

Astronomy Domine for Barrett Floyd, and Dominoes for solo era. Most eery sounding song i've ever heard

Interstellar Overdrive, the acoustic end to Jugband Blues, and Astronomy Domine.
How many of you people know you're alive?

Definately "Arnold Layne"

However, my personal comentary on this post...
Look in history(more recently especially, three examples)
-Dimebag Darrell dies, suddenly everyone's a huge fan of Pantera(personally I'd never heard of them before that point)
-Johnny Cash dies and Walk The Line is released, suddenly everyone's a Cash fan(which makes me look like a 'poser,' since I've been a huge fan I've him, as was my grandpa)
-Syd Barrett dies, ok, a lot of people already like Barrett, due to his awesomeness and his mysteriousness.

But seriously I think it's time to take a leave on the Syd Barrett threads for a while. We all miss him and we all appreciate his work, but he dosen't need a new thread every 5 days.

Personally, UG should have made like an Only Syd Barrett Appreciation Thread after he died for his fans.

Dark Globe. In fact, all of The Madcap Laughs.
And yet, to me, what is this quintessence of dust? Man delights not me: no, nor woman neither... nor women neither.

I wouldn't say alot of people already like Barrett. Hardly anyone knew who he was prior to him dying. It wasn't until the newspaper headlines read Pink Floyd Lead Singer Died or something til people knew that he used to be a part of Pink Floyd. Even then, people probably thought he was still a member of Pink Floyd when he died or something.

Step 1: Buy a Gibson SG
Step 2: Insert Green Ringer, EQ, 3 dead squirrels and a microwave into said SG
Step 3: Plug in and freak the **** out.

I don't listen to Pantera, because that whole genre sucks. I didn't start listening to Johnny Cash til years after he died and the movie didn't come out til years later. I wasn listening to Syd Barrett long before he died. It's hard to just not hear a band as big as Pink Floyd, I've tried hard to do it with Led Zeppelin.

I would recommend The Madcap Laughs and Barrett, and if you dig those get Opel. But keep in mind that those albums aren't the most accessible in music. Madcap Laughs is very raw, you can even hear Syd turn the page during "She Took A Long Cold Look."
