can you take any scale and mix up the order of the notes in it to make up a lick or song or whatever? for example can you take an A minor penatonic scale and mix up the pattern to aedgc instead of keeping the order of acdeg and add bends and lots of other stuff?

think about the scale as a chart, or a bucket of notes you can play while staying in key. You learn the scale in an ascending order, but you can take the notes out of the bucket in any way you like (meaning play the notes in the scale, no matter what order), or descending, or a combination. And also so you dont get bored, dont be scared to wander off into a few notes close to the scale notes.
