I've got some fret buzz on the first 5 or more frets of each string, I'm guessing its the truss rod eh?

I was wondering if instead of paying 50$ or more to get it set up and the truss rod alligned, I was wondering if it would be possible to put something real thin under the strings in the nut to raise the strings. Sketchy, but has anyone tried it?

just adjust the rod or the action yourself. it isnt too hard.

Adjustments are guitar specific, so go to the manufacturers website and look for it. Gibson has a good one with easy directions.
PRS SAS or Gibson LP Standard+
Teese WOF->Analogman Sunlion->Dr. Scientist Elements->Foxrox Aquavibe->Strymon Timeline->Eventide Space
Mesa RoadKing II and 2 Vox AC15s run in stereo
