i think im making quite a progressive step in my guitar playing lol

well, i guess its jazz, chuck berry's music has inspired me. rockabilly?

so anyone have any and advice on songs, scales, chords, theory? im deffinatly picking up The Jazz Theory Book by Mark Levine, ive read feedback on it from this site and everything was very positive

pick up a copy of Smokin at the Half Note by Wes Montgomery, listen to that, for a book i would go with Maiden Voyage, its one of Jamey Aebersolds books, and learn to read music

i'd say learn some really advanced blues stuff before you go into jazz, i think it would help

i can read music becuase i play piano, but i have to learn the fretboard..

Along with all of the major scale modes. You can't just rely on pentatonics and the blues scale for jazz.
