whats the diffrence sound wise???! ive heard that lp's are a little beefier sounding, toward SG's sound a little thinner....is that right?
#2
i find that sgs sound slightly lighter but a lespaul also has a much more resonate sound and higher sound quality in my taste

Well SG's have better upper fret acces, are much lighter, a bit unblanced and have thinner tone than LP's. LPs have a very fat balanced sound, but are very heavy.

LP's are just a lot creamier. A more round sound. SG's are more... attackish - not so full, but not thin sounding like a strat

Heres a vid that compares a Paul and an SG by playing same song with the same settings

I'd say country or bluegrass would be pretty difficult, for being inbred is a pre-requisite
