So yeah, it's finally happening. my friends brother was talking to Spencer about it, and like Spencer started getting into drugs I guess, so the rest of the band was pissed, and are talking about breaking up because "They are a christian band and do not want to get mixed in with anymore of this"

So that officially ruined my day.

Please, dont bash them. I mean if you dont like them, thats cool, but dont go out of your way to let me know you hate them, because personally I dont give a **** about any of your personal music choice.

I found a few articles where it says Fat Mike from NOFX caused the problems with the band.

I hope they don't split. They're one of my favourite bands.

i'm fan of zeppelin, but don't expect me to kiss your ass.

Its a shame when any band gets involved in drugs. **** really gets messed up after that.
Take Jesus not drugs.

In all honesty, I'm extremely skeptical that Spencer is getting into drugs, but whatever. It's a shame, but that's life. Best of luck to them.

I can't say I'm saddened by this news.

They're not a band I was a huge fan of, but I know more than a few people who will be saddened by the news.

Where are the links on this? Aside from just spoken word.

I mean, all I found was:
Underoath was scheduled to spend most of the summer of 2006 playing on the Warped Tour. However, on July 29, 2006, the band announced through their website that they had dropped off the tour. The band cited that they needed to work on their friendship and personal reasons. A rumor had surfaced that Fat Mike of NOFX was the main reason why the band dropped off the tour, making numerous jokes towards christian bands, especially Underoath. During NOFX's set, Fat Mike stated that Underoath did not believe in dinosaurs and even said "F*** Jesus". Fat Mike later crashed their bible study. Shortly after Fat Mike released a statement via Punknews.org stating that he was not the reason why they dropped off the tour.

Despite Fat Mike's statement via Punknews.org, the Episode 4 Podcast on Fat Wreck Chords contains Fat Mike explaining Underoath leaving because "I got their singer, Spencer, drunk... and they left the tour." Fat Mike later goes on in the Podcast to inquire why the band became angry because Spencer Chamberlain had three Bud Light beers.

and no, its not sinful to drink, just to get hammered.

They're not talking about hardcore punk, they're talking about "hardcore." It has little in common with its roots in the '80s.

First off, I do not like underoath in the least (not flaming, just stating where I stand).. you can like them if you want, it's just their image and I don't like it when bands end sets with "my name's timmy and I love jesus" (I heard that's what they do). I'm only posting to clarify some things with my limited knowledge of it... Fat Mike did give them a hard time, but what do you expect, he can be a prick. If you watch the video of him crashing the bible study though (it's on FUSE's website) he's not being as big of a jerk as I thought. He made a few remarks, but he was trying to figure out where some of these guys were coming from... like the underoath guy kept saying "I'm a horrible person, I have the capability of hating people".. and fat mike was telling him, "No, you're not a bad guy..". As for the Anti-Flag comment, at the end of their set in Fitchburg, MA when I saw them, they said "and up next playing over there is underoath!!".. it was a slam on them for the right reasons though, because they left the tour and disappointed their fans. That day at warped, less than jake made some comments as well, but it was based solely on the fact that they let their fans down. If a band does leave a tour half-way through, they let down their fans.. Anti-Flag and Less Than Jake weren't against their religious views (although I'm sure Anti-Flag can't stand their on-stage preaching), but mad at them because they ditched their fans. It sucks though that the guy is possibly on drugs, not the best stuff to be on. I wish him luck... Oh, and am I alone in finding it funny that the underoath fans wore "F*** NOFX" shirts at warped (since they're such a christian band)?? Oh well, hope this helps you guys...

They'd better not split up, their new album is good stuff, and I'm going to Taste of Chaos to see them.

This is nothing to do with NoFX and The Warped Tour.

And my friends brother would not lie about a thing like this. I know he is Spencer's friend, and they are his favorite band.

I just hope they dont break up, because I will be saddened because they were just starting to put out good music. Acts of Depression was ****ing sucky.

AoD has good music but some of those lyrics are cringe worthy. I prefer The Changing of Times & TOCS over the new one.

I have heard it's "friendship security" as a reason, and I can relate to the whole alcohol thing being something that would mess with them in regards to that. But I'm hoping they don't leave this yet because they've inspired a lot and I think they've still got some more left in em'.
