dude 60th...mexican anything is only good for modding :-P but really, the equipment on the 60th is better than the mexican, but im not sure about what's better between american or 60th...never compared them together really :shrugs:

If you want a diverse guitar get a fat strat or a guitar with a HSH setup(such as an Ibanez RG or S). The single coil in the bridge may not cut it for some rhythm styles, but what guitar you get solely depends on what you're going to be playing (obviously :P)

To answer your first question; the 60th anniversary beats the MIM anyday. For your second question; it is great for leads, if you're playing blues and rock n' roll brother! If you want a fatter rythm sound, then go for a HSS for sure.
