in a week or so i'm gonna make a guitar. this guitar will be for blues. the body will be all koa and i plan an lp design.

just wondering what kind of pickups would suit me best for a blues tone? i'm looking for something sounding like cody chesnutt off of whatever he did in chappelle's block party.

what pup will do best with the koa and what type of wood for the neck?
someone told me mahogony gives a warm tone so i'm thinking of going with that.

how many pickups should i get? configuration? lp's got the two hums, will that do?

I second that. I would go for a basic strat pick-up setup, and for the pu's themselves, either Gold lace sensors, or fender texas specials if you want a hotter (i.e. SRV) tone. BTW, the lace sensors are used by buddy guy and ritchie blackmore if you want to find some sound clips.
