So I' planning on getting a Randall RG200DG3 and its around $600. I just want to know if it's worth the money or is there a better amp I can get for that money.

Please, consider a tube amp. If that's a tube amp (I'm pretty sure it's not), ignore this post.

no it's not but i've used a 100 and its sound pretty good. i'm gonna try out the 200 before i buy it off coarse but i think it should sound fine.

Don't just go for the power of the amp

go for quality,

alot of people only pick randall cause people like Dimebag used them

i'd consider a tube amp from Marshall before the randall

Is there any black people on UG?
I don't think a lot of black people play guitar anymore.

If your going to spend 600, go for a JCM combo.
Much better IMO and I think you will be more satisfied.

Yes, but he used Randall TUBE amps, no?

tube wattage is much greater than non tube wattage.
and the tone is much better, consider a tube.

No. He used Randall SOLID STATE up until the last Pantera album or two, then switched to tube... and then in Damage plan he used tube Kranks.

OH MY EFFING LORD! ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT DIMEBAG DARRELL USED SOLID STATE AMPS UNTIL REINVENTING THE STEEL??! Seriously. That would amaze me. SURELY, on songs like Hollow, he was using a tube amp, yes? This bothers me. Alot. It would explain why Reinventing the Steel had his best tone

Calm down, this is pretty common knowledge....

Edit: I've never listened to Pantera, and I still own a Randall.

There's nothing wrong with a good solid state amp, they just get a bad rap because there are a lot of bad ones around

And why is everyone recoomending a JCM? The TS hasn't even said what Music they play and they are 2 radically different amps.
