Who do you think the most underated band? Musician? I'm all ears.
For bands, Ugly Kid Joe is most definitely the most misunderstood band w/ a hit(they had a few in the 90's). Tesla, they didn't get the attention they deserved. You might disagree w/ the next one, but Megadeth, I feel, is underated as well, b/c of the whole Metallica rivalry. For Musicians, there are quite a few: Brian Johnson, Iron Maiden's guitarists, Malcom Young, Dave Mustaine, Billie Joe Armstrong, Chris Slade(AC/DC's Razors Edge drummer, if you didn't know that, you see what I mean?), and Lemmy Kilmister. What do all of you think?

Don't double post.

To me, Testament is under-rated band. They should get more recognition

ok... I love old billie joe, but he's perceived as a great musician by the public, when he's not really that special. Someone that's really not as much underrated as forgotten about is Chris Cornell in his soundgarden days... that's a great musician. Soundgarden is a great band, but few today appreciate them.

Mick Mars is under-rated. That guy is a beast. His guitar playing is awesome.

I beleive that Ace Frehley of Kiss is underrated as a guitar player which i think is total crap. His riffs were quite good and he pumped out a lot of Kiss' music. And I think Gene Simmons overshadowed the rest of the band members. Opinions?

Runrig as a band, and Malcolm Jones (from the band) as a guitarist.

Everyone go listen to them right now.

According to my poll in the bass forum, Duff McKagen, Steve Harris, Gene Simmons, Lemmy Kilmister, and Mike Dirnt are underated(No one voted for these guys yet as thier favorite, except Harris, and I voted him in.

Rush needs more recognition for sure. They are just so freaking good.

The same answer I always have...

These guys right here: That's right it's none other than the Polyphonic Spree

I know them from an episode of Scrubs.

They're pretty good.

Well, the bass poll is closed, and it turns out that Gene Simmons Lemmy Kilmister are underated, they didn't get a single vote as being a favorite. And they both rule.

Biffy Clyro - the whole band is just underrated.

Also, as far as guitar goes...Jeff Buckley and Johnny Marr are both extremely underrated.

Deadsy. They've been on big tours but they seem to always be disliked.

I was shocked to see their review on the homepage.

Pearl Jam as a band, they always get over shadowed by Nirvana.
Jeff Buckley
Lenny Kravitz
Matt Cameron as a drummer.
Ringo Starr... (kidding)

A lot of Indie bands are very underrated.

Correct me if I'm wrong but, aren't all indie bands unknown an, thus, not really rated at all?

Hell yea.

Marty Friedman's solo works are soooo underrated. Same as Cacophony.

Oh, and just about every jazz musician that everyone here's never heard of.
