Manic Depression, Voodoo Chile, Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Hey Joe, Red House, In From The Storm, Little Wing, Who Knows, My Friend, Room Full Of Mirrors.

In addition to that, just get the 'Blues' album; some really great stuff on there.

Jimi Hendrix: Blues is the one album where all you get are pure blues songs.

Some of them are covers of blues musicians, while others are alternative version of Hendrix songs from past albums.

Basically, it appears as though most of his "blues" blues songs have been recommended, but definetly pick up Jimi Hendrix: Blues.

are you serious?

about 70% of hendrix' work is r+B, funk, or straight up rock. blues influenced maybe, but not blues.

Thank you, freewheelinbird.

For those of you who aren't aware of it, just because something is blues-influenced doesn't necessarilly make it blues.

Technically, anything considered "rock" is blues-influenced.

Anyone heard his version of "Killing Floor?" It's great, though I prefer Howlin' Wolf's better. The combination of Howlin' Wolf and Hubert Sumlin is not an easy one to top.

Yes, I have Jimi version of "Killing Floor" on The Jimi Hendrix Experience Box Set.

It's definetly awesome, but I'm not sure if I like Howlin' Wolf's or Jimi's version of the song better.

I dont really like Jimi's version of Killin Floor, I like Howlin' Wolf's way more. Personally though, i think Jimi isnt that good at playing the blues, i mean hes good, but i think he is way better at psycadelia

The only complaint I have about Jimi playing the blues is sometimes I feel like he plays basically the same thing over and over again.

That's quite true. I think some of the tunes are nice though even if they are repeated a few times.

Uh... I mean, I guess I'd consider it more Blues-Rock than just Blues, but I agree that the song is awesome.

But to that it could be considered "Blues", because Blues really has so many different styles.

The song doesn't seem to follow much of a "traditional" Blues pattern such as 12-Bar Blues or anything, so like I said before I'd consider this more Blues-Rock.
