Nobody Weird Like Me and Get Up and Jump as far as slapping goes, but a hard one fastwise would be Blackeyed Blonde

IMO "Can't stop" is ablsolutely impossible the way flea plays

"Salute to kareem" and "The greeting song" are pretty damn hard too

Cant stop is a pretty basic tune, not very diffivult at all, now doign all the fills he does in the song is pretty difficult, but it is a good learner for slap, first slap song i learned was cant stop...

A good song by the RHCP is Aeroplane, it is a very good song to learn, it has a nice solo, but it is jsut a good tune to learn all around..

I might have another attempt at it then

I'd say some of Flea's solo stuff would be his hardest work. But as far as RHCP as a whole:

- Coffee Shop with its bass wah.
- Parrallel Universe can be a killer with 16th notes all the way through.
- And a lot of there pre-Frusciante stuff can be hard at times to hold down the groove.

Also try checking out some of their live shows, he normally adds a lot of fills or adds stuff inbetween / to the end of songs.

Nonbody weird like me, as someone already said. That's f*cking killer.

Can't stop is harder the Flea way but nowhere near his hardest song at all.

...what part is hard in The Greeting song? I'd call that a beginner's song.

Get up and Jump, Power of Equality, Nobody Weird Like Me and Black-Eyed Blonde are kinda hard.

I can do Get up and Jump, thats mostly a groove slap bass thing, just starting off slowly then getting faster.

Power of Equality is an awesome song!! I love to hear someone play that live, other then Flea, wah bass solos, super fast slapping, groovy fingerstyle!!
#17
My guess is Aeroplane or Around The World.......

why wont you start off with easier Red Hot Material?
you have Give It Away which can easily preper you to further fleaing....
...And The Nominees Are

IMO GET UP AND JUMP and COFFEE SHOP are quite difficult to play. I struggle with the some of the slappin in those songs.
In terms of fun songs to play tho i think EASILY and SOUL TO SQUEEZE are good to jam along to. There not very hard but are still good.

Cant stop is the first song i learnt to slap...Greeting song isn't slap. the main riff is just C on the A string and An Open A...Simple as hell.

Blackeyed Blonde is pretty easy if you get the pattern...probably an easy one to slap. Get up and jump is great for building stamaina...Skinny Sweaty Man isn't half bad either.

...Can't stop is impossible? Hardly. That's a pretty easy tune, if it's "impossible" for you, then I hope you're a beginner, and if you aren't, I don't mean to be rude.

May I ask why it seems so difficult? Maybe you're playing it wrong.

Anyway, I would say Aeroplane is the most difficult RHCP song I've seen..I guess, I don't spend a lot fo time learning other's songs so I'm basing this on the, oh I don't know, 4 RCHP bass tabs I've looked at.

Get Up and Jump or Blackeyed Blonde are the hardest i think

Flea Is a legend
#28
Yeah Blackeyed Blonde after looking at it now, isnt too hard, its most speed thats the problem but once you have the basic pattern of slaps and pops then speed will come naturally. It took me about a month to learn Get Up and Jump to the correct speed and have enough stamina to play it through out

The lyrics are not rubbish

For me, the hardest song to stay in time in is their cover of "I Feel Love". I can get the 16th notes fine, although by the end of the song I begin missing a few beats. I have been working on building up the endurance to play songs like that.

Give it Away is just as difficult as Around the World...

Give it away is much easier, just because its the same the whole way through pretty much, the only thing tht changes is guitar solo, and the verse connecting parts. Around the world id only differcult because the 'fills' in between the main riff and the amount of different bass parts to the song.

IMO, the hardest maybe blackeyed blonde, get up and jump. basically the hillel era of the chilli's (slap). i think in terms of playing and jamming, maybe otherside or venice queen.
Another good bass riff is 'this is the place', i like it alot....

Yeah I give up on I Feel Love, its just all too busy string skipping for my liking! LOL.

^^ Are you really saying that Venice Queen and Otherside are hard to play? Honest to GOD!!! There the simplest songs in the world to play. I get bored playing them and just impro stuff over the top of it.

Where do you get this idea that Around the World is hard? There more songs that are hadrer then that to play. Yes, the fills can be slightly annoying but other then that its rather run of the mill.
#32
Coffee Shop is definately a very hard one. I generally give up by the 2nd solo. It's mental.

I Feel Love is another difficult one, that's from Live at Hyde Park.

If you like his Improv stuff, on Live At Hyde Park you have the beginning of Throw Away Your Television, which I want someone to tab, because it sounds so cool. Erm... What else?

Aeroplane, the solo to Naked in The Rain.

Mellowship Slinky in B Major, and If You Have To Ask are both Medium Difficulty!

Hope I helped
#33
It depends...

YOu want an awesome song Around the World, which by the way is not SLAPPED people

fast.. i guess parallel universe
This is the greatest bassist of all times!
(Hopefully)
#34
^^, well Around the World studio version is not slapped. Live, he can play whatever he wants, sometimes slap, sometimes finger style. Thats why I think Flea's basslines I kinda standard on albums, cos he always makes them better live!!
#35
live he can play what he wants... but he's never slapped Around the World live so I dont see what point you made.

I just tried the Coffee Shop solo... damn thats a tough one. I can't play past the first half or so.

He has played Around the World slap live, I swear to GOD he has played slap bass after the Intro/Breakdown bit near the middle of the song. I can't think where I have seen it, its on a DVD somewhere, possiblely Off The Map but I shall hunt it down.

Yes it does matter as it says, what RCHP song is the hardest, and adding a complex slap bass part into what normally would be an average complicated song, then it would make the song some what harder to play. (Wow, am I really this stupid to take on a MOD)

Is Coffe Shop off One Hot Minute, need to rebuy that album if it is.

I think there is a tab for that intro to Throw Away Your Television, try Powertab?
#38
Yes, coffee shop is off One Hot Minute, which I think is the 2nd best album!

Next to BSSM of course
#39
Too many damn Flea worshippers...
Regardless, the things he does live are magical; he's unreal.
#40
nobody wierd like me, or get up and jump are my picks.

on a side note, a "challenging" one is If off stadium arcadium. its just cool haha.
