I have a CIJ reissue Jaguar, and the nut on it is basically...crap. I like to use 12's, and I'd rather get a quality nut cut and fitted. So does anyone know what particular nut size would fit? Is it a curved bottom? As I can't really make out from looking at it. If you could provide specific examples on ebay or a website for me that would be great. Thanks a lot.

Sorry bro but I think removing the old one for inspection is the best bet. Should just pop out with a little prying. I'll say it first--Will you have a brass nut installed? Just kidding.

Hm...yeh but I heard if nuts are glued in with a adhesive that's too strong, it can take some of the wood out underneath. I don't want to damage it, it cost me too much.

with a stanley knife just score the edges around the area of the nut on both sides.
then with a blow dryer heat the section around the nut.
find something the width of the nut and then start to tap it out slowly.
if theres any resistance heat the area more and tap just a bit harder.
that should work but i cant take any responsobility if you **** it up so better thing to do is to take it to a music shop and get them to take it out for you.
