Hey guys I have been playing for about 3 years now and am looking to upgrade from my Epiphone SG look-a-like..if you will. To something better. I play mainly clean tones with a Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sublime, Pepper, Slightly stoopid, feel to it. Raggae/mellow rock. I also like to distort it and play a little bit of punk every now and then. How would this guitar suit me as far as action, playability, durability, sound, and maintenence. I am looking for a guitar that will last me a long time.

I played it. It's pretty simple, made in Mexico. The neck plate is weird. It only has three screws. You get what you pay for. I'll recommend the Fender Highway One Stratocaster over it.

Poplar is fine, it's pretty close to Alder (just a little bit heavier).

The JV Strat is one of the most highly rated MIM strats on FenderForum.com (which is a REAL guitar website with professional players over age 15)

If you like the neck (which is V, not U), then youll love this guitar.
