Hi all!

So I got this new wah pedal, and it got me thinking about solos I could learn to use it with.

I have been messing about with it on the only solos I know which are Teen Spirit, Sunshine of Your Love and Stairway to Heaven. I'd really like to know if you guys have any suggestions of cool solos which already have a lot of wah in so I can listen to the way it's used and try and recreate or build on it.

Cheers fella!

Anything off metallica's black album basically.
"Wherever i may roam" is a killer

Anything Joe Satriani pretty much

Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Child (Slight Return) is fun to play around with. Not ultra-easy, but fun.

thanks for the replies!

I don't really dig Metallica at the moment, and I'm no shredder (I usually play acoustic blues) so I'm looking for something that's not at 1 million miles an hour and that has soul.

Hendrix sounds interesting, although I haven't listened to him for over ten years...

That Beverly Hills solo by Weezer is simple, and sounds pretty cool.

Thats actually a "talk box" but a wah could work and sounds great with it.

I like to make my own solos, you know and just **** around with different scales and runs, like you like acoustic blues, play some blues scale solos or some pentatonic minors, and use the wah.

I like playin sabbath solos with a wah, if you dont like sabbath then try the solo in Dazed and Confused
#14
You could just improvise in the pentatonic or blues scale, the wah makes it sound a lot more interesting.

But don't overuse it like Hammett, because it gets boring

All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix

Not easy, but there's a part in the solo that uses "wah". You could try that out.

try Fire by Jimi Hendrix. I'm not sure if he used the wah pedal in the studio version but in woodstock he did. I played the studio version with wah and it sounded pretty good.
