What is the best/easiest/least expensive way to do this? Any links? Do's or Don'ts? I have a bunch of ideas but I'm not sure the best way to go about making my own. And I don't want it to be just a wooden board because it needs to be safe for transportation. Ideally, it would be powered and fit 4-6 pedals or more. Thanks.

You could just buy one. SKB makes some nice powered boards. For my old pedalboard, I used just a piece of wood and velcro and then organized the pedals the way I wanted them. I use a Laptop bag that opened on the top for transportation. Now I added little leg things and drilled holes for all the cables. I haven't figured out a way to move it to gigs though. With the leg things it won't fit in my bag.

EDIT: My newer one is in my sig. I need like 4 more pedals for it though.

I think there's a homemade wooden board somewhere on these forums which has a cover and looks pretty good.
