ok, i now this may sound like a stupid question, but what are the difference between emgs and humbuckers, or even humbuckers and regular pickups? all i know is that the humbuckers where designed sumhow to stop static feedback or sumthing, i dunno i forget.

EMG's are humbuckers. They are active pickups with an active preamp in the guitar. Humbuckers as you know them are passive.

well then why do they look so different, emgs are all one sheet of "metal" as you may say, while humbuckers seem to be a regualr pickup with an extended sheet underneath or above them. i have no idea wtf im talkin about, i just wundered what the differences were.

emgs under the metal casing are just normal humbuckers.
