I have been getting setback after setback trying to get a new guitar as I had to retire my '57 and send it to my cousins so he could keep it stored in his collection so it doesnt get broken (am using my old '50s strat as my current guitar). My whole plan was to Sell my telecaster, for $2500 and get a new strat. My parents kept thinking I was getting ripped off, and that I would be regretting selling my Telecaster for a strat in the long run (I hate the guitar with a passion). So now they have stolen the guitar and arent telling me where they put it.

On to the subject. I have decided that I will upgrade my strat over the next few years. I am looking for something non strat. I have decided on the ES-335.
I will be putting a Bigsby on it and a Strat Pup in the middle, ala Alvin Lee's Big Red http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-Custom-Shop-Alvin-Lee-Big-Red-ES335-Electric-Guitar-?sku=517310 (this RI doesnt have The Bigsby)

The Choice.

3 guitars are on my list I am wondering

Which is better for doing these mods?
Are these all Gibson Memphis guitars?
What are the pros and cons of these guitars?

My first choice.

The Faded Cherry Red Gibson ES-335 Satin Finish.

(Will the finish on this guitar rub off?)

My Second Choice

The Antique Cherry Red Gibson ES-335 Block.

(really worth the extra $1k)

My Third Choice.

The Antique Cherry Red Gibson ES-335 Dot.

(Is this guitar really woth the extra $1k?)

I own the 335 Satin Finish and the finish hasn't worn off. There's really no difference between the three. They just have different finishes and fret inlays. The satin has classic 57's and they sound great. I don't know about adding a strat pup to the gibson but the bigsby is a good idea. That's what I want to do with mine. LMK if you have any other questions.

(about the Satin 335)
Does the finish scratch easily on it?
how well does it hold up to gigging?
