so i am thinking of getting an overdrive pedal that i can use on both my clean and distorted channels of my mesa f-30. i play pretty much everything except country and crap like that, but mostly clasic/hard rock and metal(metalica, trivium kind of sound). i would like to get a OD that could get me enough destortion for metal but the ability just to boost my clean solos. i think i'm leaning towards the maxon OD-9.

-what OD do you think i should get?
-i've looked into the Ibanez ts9 and the maxon OD9; whats the difference besides the true bypass switch?
-what about all of the different mods you can do to these?
-should i mod my pedal if i get one( or buy it moded)?

thx in advance

o ya i have a epi les pual with emgs (81/85) and a mesa f-30
