hi, i have a '92 gibson les paul (used for $700) and a 120 watt custom crate (also used for $220). 've been playing for 2 years and i'm pretty mediocre (but am trying to improve that ) anyways.. the les paul's neck is really thick and it's hard to move around it when working on faster stuff. i've been looking for a 24 fret ibanez that would be good for faster stuff, and i'm hoping i can get a tone somewhat similar to john petrucci. i was also wondering if getting it as a seven string would be a good idea too. i'm planning to get a seven string down the road so yeah... :-/. any help would be great. thanks alot

you might want to buy an Ibanez RG1570 and if you wanna sound like John Petrucci it might be hard since of the gear he uses

get a ernie Ball Music Man. Steve Morse(Deep Purple, dixie Dregs) and John Petrucci use it. It's like the best shred guitar.

That's a brand. Good job, champion.
