This forum may be too metal for Sabbath.

But they have my infinite worship for being the first metal band I ever listened to.

Or not. Sabbath = the absolute personification of metal.
The song Black Sabbath has got to be the most evil song EVER, nothing before or since comes close in terms of heaviness, power, or general perfection. Except maybe Into the Void.

So yea, Sabbath pretty much owns you.

^^^ I understand that, I was kidding. The only reason I said that is because most of the things discussed on this forum are beyond the realm of Sabbath... it's hard to describe what I mean.

And I'm sorry, but Sabbath owns you.

edit: I get the impression that most people on this forum generally listen to heavier stuff than sabbath. And don't tell me Sabbath is the heaviest band of all time. That may be, but you know what I mean.

I find most of their material to be quite boring, but they do have some badass songs like war pigs and children of the grave.

Yeah I get what you mean (I think). I still stand by my statement though. Sabbath (and Pentagram) don't get enough bloody credit in this forum, which is totaly unjust seeing as they were before ANY other metal bands.

The mighty Sabs! Theyre first 3 albums are amazing, although from there I lose interest besides a few really good songs.

both of em are great bands. I'd say that early Sabbath is the best doom metal.
I was bad with usernames at age 12. Ah woe.

Sabbath wasnt just one of the Best Metal Bands, they helped found metal, and all of its wonders. Supernauts, and Lost Children of the Sea are some of my all time favorite sabbath songs

Question....
Favourite non-Ozzy Sabbath?
Heaven and Hell is of course a classic, as is Mob Rules. Born Again and the first three Tony Martin albums are underated as well I find.

Heaven and Hell is really the only non-Ozzy Sabbath I enjoy, and even then I don't think it compares to the Ozzy-era. (Minus Technical Ecstacy, in my opinion)

Listening to paranoid as we speak, I prefer their self titled and master of reality though..

Revolution in their minds - the children start to march
Against the world they have to live in
Oh! the hate that's in their hearts
They're tired of being pushed around
And told just what to do
They'll fight the world until they've won
And love comes flowing through

Children of tomorrow live in the tears that fall today
Will the sunrise of tomorrow bring in peace in any way
Must the world live in the shadow of atomic fear
Can they win the fight for peace or will they disappear?

So you children of the world listen to what say
If you want a better place to live in spread the world today
Show the world that love is still alive you must be brave
Or your children of today are children of the grave

Best metal song ever.

electric funeral and black sabbath were two songs that were far ahead of their time in terms of heaviness and ominousness.

Listening to some sabbath right now.

Great stuff, I can safely say all the early pre-dio stuff rules.
Heaven and hell is meh to me, it just doesn't sound like what I'd expect from sabbath.

^and he shares your name funnily enough.

heh I'm a proud owner of the whole back-catalogue

edit: though I'd probably be one of the very few that actually enjoy their material with Dio. meh.

There are more people out there than you may think. I know a couple of people who actualy prefer the Dio albums over the Ozzy ones.

very true, it's just most people I know are the ones that I described. I think they're both just as good anyhow.

I havent heard enough of the Dio stuff apart from some Heaven and hell stuff...

Black sabbath is possibly the most perfect song ever, in my opinion at least. Yes, I'm on a sabbath binge again.

Has anyone heard that band that does covers of Sabbath songs with medieval instruments and sung in latin?
#35
I can't stand the Dio stuff or the last album or 2 from Ozzy-Sabbath. Technical Ecstasy SUCKED BALLS!

I always credit sabbath for the first Black Metal song, Who are you.....

He had some great songs but I think his voice was so much better in sabbath. Like in Bark at the Moon he's kinda almost monotone, in a way.

i never liked most of ozzy's solo stuff, not very dark very upbeat 80-ish
