How can i record directly over a rythem track ?

or how do you guys do it ,do you record the solo seperately and then mix it with the original track ?
And how do you get it to match perfectly the timing ?

i dont know about you,but that pretty tiring to me ..

If you just wanna record you playing guitar you can use audacity to record 2 tracks at different times... so you'd record the rythm, then record lead on top of it, leaving a 1 measure countdown at the start.

As for timing, use a metronome.
