I had a Black Charvel Strat Style guitar, and Ive decided to repaint it, or not repaint it.
I sanded it down, heres a picture, and I plan to put clear coat on it to give it the naturual wood finish, and put back my strat black harness on it (Pick-ups and black pick-guard).
I need tips on what paint to buy etc.... Thanks.

Thanks, right now Im taking a break, as you can see in the picture the horns arent completly sanded, I have to hand sand them, Ive done one of them, just waiting for my fingers to regain conciousness.

I love natural finishes myself and wanted to do one on my summer builds/mods; however, the bodies I had were blah after I sanded them to bare wood. Tight grain like yours ... I recommend a vintage color instead. Add Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot or Hot Vintage(?) and OD ... or DiMarzio Virtual Vintage.

For paint, consider the Duplicolor Acrylic family: for sander/sealer, color, and clearcoat ... in case you decide not to go with the Natural.

Good Luck!

Man! Gotta love those LFs ... just played my friend's dad's Strat with the LFs for the first time and those are awesome with the Blues, if you're into that type.

Yea I am into the blues, cant wait to get them back, from the shop, I also put a blender pot so I can blend the neck pup with the Bridge and vice versa or all 3 together.
here's what I want my strat to look like.

I want to carve my initials on the bottom middle then burn them with a magnifying glass.

I'd go for a white finish with tortoise shell pickguard, but with a black pickguard, I would go with black or deep red finish.

Yea it was already black, I sanded it down from black.

Instead of burning with a magnifying glass, why not a chef's blowtorch or a soldering iron?

i don't know about you, but i don't like the grain on that guitar so if you still want to show the grain i'd at least use a transparent colour instead of just clearcoating it. but that's just my opinion

Pink!

No really!

Alright Alright, some of the vintage blues are really really nice see through finishes. If the grain was a lot nicer, you could have stained it, but unless you really like the grain you probably shouldnt.

I think the body looks gorgeous. The only thing I don't like is the headstock, which doesn't seem to fit well to me.

But it's a matter of opinion

God I suck. I sat here for a good 3-4 minutes looking at that guitar wondering why it looked so weird (besides the headstock) until I FINALLY worked out it has a different output jack.
