Help writting songs!!!
When i write instrumental songs, i follow the theory and i never do it with a note or chord that doesn't go with the key chord. but it always sounds boring or too ordinary
Should i include other notes or codes?

.......

Only with key chord notes? No wonder. Holy crap, that would make bland music. You can write great stuff without ever leaving a certain key, but you have to use all the notes to do it, man!

I know theory because it serves me, but the purpose of theory is just that: to serve. If it's shackling you, don't think about it at all. Play some notes, find a scale, and make something. You don't have to worry about what theory says on the matter.

If it sounds good to you, then you're right in that particular matter, and theory can go meet up with Richard Simmons.

Now get off the computer, and CREATE!

And here I was thinking you were a bright guy, and then you throw in a Star Wars reference. For shame.

I kid, star wars is cool. I just dont... talk like it.
