Ok, I've gotten pretty descent at alot of techniques used in shred- sweeping, alt. picking, etc, and I want to apply them and really work to learn an "easy" shred tune. Can anyone reccomend one to me?

Steve Vai - Warm Regards.

Those are easy?

I suppose there's certainly harder, but, heh.

If Eric Johnson is consider shred.. Try Manhatten or SRV. Those are pretty cool and not too hard

Hehe.. they're definitely in the 'easy' category I think... 'specially the Satch one - it's the first *shred* song I learnt.

Suppose you might consider things like Starry Night, Love Thing, A Love Eternal or Ten Words.. and so forth easier, but none of those really contain any of the techniques mentioned in abundance.

Shred songs, huh? I hope by shred, you mean guitar instrumental. I'd hate to pigeon-hole everything by Satch and Vai as being "shred." Okay, some kinda easy songs,

Glasgow Kiss - John Petrucci
Satch Boogie - Joe Satriani
Midnight - Joe Satriani
Liberty - Steve Vai
For the Love of God - Steve Vai
Super Colossal - Joe Satriani
