hmm...i was wondering what is the diference between a plated humbucker and an open one...cuz i talked to a few private dealers as well as official stores and they all said that there is no actual difference in the to...but im still not convinced, im sure that they are different in sound and such but i do not know how...so if any1 has the time to explain this to me, plz do...

It's for looks, that's all. I have heard that it slightly muzzeles the sound though, but only slighty.

They say the metal cover "sweetens" the tone. It makes it more rounded and less bright. PRS and Gibson know this.


nice, well if it actually "sweetens" the tone im all for the metal cover...all the more reason i should continue saving up for the PRS Custom 24...btw, another question whats the difference between coil and rail pickups?
