I just heard the title track on my copy of Madden '07.

Talk about one kick ass tune.

I can't wait to hear this album. It comes out September 5th. This tune gave me chills the very first time I heard it. I didn't even know it was on the Madden soundtrack, and knew immediately who it was when I heard the opening riff.

You gotta hear it if you haven't heard it already. It's unreal!

I've Heard snips of revelations, and love original fire. I would like to say they have finnaly found their sound. This looks to be a astrologically huge album. Hope it lives up, cant wait.

ok so iv started been shredding for a while now. and i was reading other threads and i was wondering, is shredding just playing random notes all over the fret board wherever i want. or am i supposed to shred in some kind of scale??

i dont like original fire that much...

but im interested in hearing some other tracks, think overall the album will be great

The "Revelations" track is a bit reminiscient of "Show Me How To Live".

It's got another crazy good groove and riff behind it.

I still wish like hell that Morello would get off of his "want to sound wierd" kick and play the guitar like he really can. He wants to be different so much that his soloing suffers, IMO. It's almost like Stuart saying, "Look what I can do!" (Mad TV reference)

You can be a kick ass guitarist and still throw in quirky stuff like Mattias Eklundh or Steve Vai does.

Morello just wants to be quirky all the time. I wanna see the guy rip. Just once. If only once.

Listen to Doesn't Remind Me and #1 Zero off their second album, he does some real soloing.

I didn't like Original Fire much, but I want to hear some other tracks. I heard Wake Up is awesome.
#19
I actually didnt like the debut album that much. True, it did produce some pretty sick riffage, but the group just didnt gell and sound like a cohesive unit. Out of Exile was a step up for me, they sounded like they were working together more, combining both cultures and elements.
I really hope that Revelations comes through for me.

As for RATM and Soundgarden, they were both much better bands than Audioslave. They just had that extra attitude and mysteriousness that surrounded their music that Audioslave lacks. Most of Audioslave's songs are fit into the conventional structure, while RATM and Soundgarden were the opitome of originality.

"Doesn't Remind Me?" that solo is pretty straightforward, not really his style but it's pretty groovy.

i got it today and its awesome

but does anybody else get a red hot chilis(ie Sir Phsycho Sexy from BSSM) vibe from Jewel of the Summertime, i swear i found myself singing it over the main riff and it fits perfectly....

bit o plagarism goin on here methinks

o/j its pretty similar in the style of it, and its just the funky vibe i get from it...

I've only heard "Original Fire," and while I know a lot of people dislike it, I enjoy it a lot. The chorus is catchy as hell, and I like the guitar (except the solo).

I have also heard "Sound of a Gun" live, but it was bad quality. However, the song sounded awesome.

My expectations for this album are extremely high, and I can only hope it lives up.

Listened to the album a couple of times. I do like most of the tracks, Wide Awake especially. Can't really say whether this is my favourite album yet but its damn good. Tom Morello's solo's are getting a little tired with me but I still admire him. Also I pretty sure I heard an interview where they mentioned releasing albums annually, not sure if thats what they meant but I hope its true.

I sware i read that exact paragraph in a review for Out Of Exile

Revelations is a decent album.. it's gonna need some growing time for me... they're not very angry on this album. I really liked their angry stuff.. like Set It Off or Exploder or Man or Animal.. nothing on Revelations has screamed instant classic for me yet..

maybe a few too many effect solo's on this album. still sound great though.
#34
lovin the new cd. better than i expected. some sweet riffs goin on. some of the solos are definatly gettin a little samey but wat the hell they still rock. very cool cd
#35
Yes they said on the dvd that comes with the album that Their influences(Yes, Rush, Led Zep etc.) would release albums every year and tour alot, meaning they were always on top of the game. So they are hoping to release an album every year.

I hope the next album is heavier and angrier, it would definetely be a good change because of the last 2 softer albums. Its time to vent some ANGER!!!
