does anyone know a website that says how all the chords are constructed? an example is:

major: 1 3 5

minor: 1 b3 5

but those are the only ones i know. if you just like to put them all then that would work too. thanks a lot.

I'm only putting the chords I can think of - no doubt I'll miss a few out, though.

  • Major: 1 - 3 - 5.
  • Major7: 1 - 3 - 5 - 7.
  • Major9: 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9.
  • Major13: 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 - 13.
  • Maj7(#11): 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 - #11.
  • Major13#11: 1 - 3 - 5 - 7 - 9 - #11 - 13.
  • Major6th (6): 1 - 3 - 5 - 6.
  • add9: 1 - 3 - 5 - 9.
  • 6add9 (6/9): 1 - 3 - 5 - 6 - 9.
  • Maj7(b5): 1 - 3 - b5 - 7.
  • Maj7(#5): 1 - 3 - #5 - 7.
  • Minor: 1 - b3 - 5.
  • Minor7: 1 - b3 - 5 - b7.
  • Minor9: 1 - b3 - 5 - b7 - 9
  • Minor11: 1 - b3 - 5 - b7 - 9 - 11.
  • Minor13: 1 - b3 - 5 - b7 - 9 - 11 - 13.
  • Minor6: 1 - b3 - 5 - 6.
  • madd9 (m9 with no 7th): 1 - b3 - 5 - 9.
  • m6add9 (-6/9): 1 - b3 - 5 - 6 - 9.
  • mmaj7 (min(maj7)): 1 - b3 - 5 - 7.
  • mmaj9 (min(maj9)): 1 - b3 - 5 - 7 - 9.
  • Min7(b5): 1 - b3 - b5 - b7.
  • Min7(#5): 1 - b3 - #5 - b7.
  • Dom7th (7): 1 - 3 - 5 - b7.
  • Dom9th (9): 1 - 3 - 5 - b7 - 9.
  • Dom11th (11): 1 - 3 - 5 - b7 - 9 - 11.
  • Dom13th (13): 1 - 3 - 5 - b7 - 9 - 11 - 13.
  • Dom7b5 (7b5): 1 - 3 - b5 - b7.
  • Dom7#5 (7#5): 1 - 3 - #5 - b7.
  • Dom7b9 (7b9): 1 - 3 - 5 - b7 - b9.
  • Dom7#9 (7#9): 1 - 3 - 5 - b7 - #9.
  • Augmented: 1 - 3 - #5.
  • Diminished: 1 - b3 - b5.
  • Diminished 7th: 1 - b3 - b5 - bb7.
  • sus4: 1 - 4 - 5.
  • sus2: 1 - 2 - 5.

Ouch, that's all I can think of at the moment and no doubt elven's going to comment on my lack of showing that some notes are optional, but meh. My arse hurts now, so I'll add to it later once I can think straight.

... If the people at this site would hurry up and approve my lessons, this wouldn't be a problem.

And to R0CKER1220: and augmented chord is a 1 3 and #5. Major third.
