hi

Somtimes i play powerchords with only my middle finger..
Like in Hypnotize by system of a down, the heavy part i do with my middle finger.
Also in smoke on the water, the main part in beginning i do that with my middle finger as well.. Is that normal?

He's probably not - He could be talking about playing the root with his 1st and the 5th and its octave with his middle

Then again, he said "only my middle finger" ....

You mean for drop Db for Hypnotize.. barreing a chord makes it a powerchord in that tuning.

Also he's talking about power chords without the bass note.

I'm not sure what you're on about but when I play powerchords I use my index, little and the one next to the middle (not sure of it's name). My middle sticks up looking like Im insulting someone.

Could be it (don't know what they are called). Used in the main riff in Smoke On The Water

True, but he's also using a slide...regardless, yes you can play a powerchord with your middlefinger - I'm assuming you're using your index finger as well - if not then you must be in drop D, in which case *shrug* who cares.
