Alright, I know this thread has been made a few times, but they're all very old if I remember right. So, name some covers of songs you think are better than the original.

I'd say:

Judas Priest: Johnny B. Goode
GN'R: Knockin' on Heaven's Door
Children of Bodom: Oops, I did it again
Jimi Hendrix: All Along The Watchtower
Metallica: Whiskey In The Jar
Johnny Cash: Hurt
Eric Clapton: Classical Gas

Post yours.

Beating the elderly is a big favourite of mine. Also, pushing kids over and kicking pregnant women in the womb is fun.

Right now we're called 'Various Artists' just to fuck over people with iPods

Thin Lizzy: Whiskey In The Jar

Was Actually a cover of a song written by an Old irish folk band called the dubliners(Sp?)

The Dubliners wrote that? My dad listens to that band, but it's not my kind of thing. I think Metallica's rendition was alot better than Thin Lizzy's

Meh, I prefer the classic tone of lizzy, for that song anyway, And theres something i don't like about hetfeilds vocals, He only suits some songs.

Alter bridge: Crazy Train

Skid Row have done an awesome cover of Crazy Train, too. Nothing will beat the original, though.

There's no way Killswitch Engage's version could beat Dio's...

As for the covers:

Diamonds And Rust - Judas Priest
Barbie Girl - Rammstein
Live And Let Die - Guns N' Roses
Knockin' On Heaven's Door - Guns N' Roses

Are you serious? I need to hear that. I can imagine him playing the solo by waving his sheet of cardboard around.
