A cross between finger picking and using a pick. You use it to play two notes a once so you use the pick to hit the lower notes and your middle or pointer finger to hit the high note.

I don't get it lol. In stairway to heaven, you're only fretting one string at any given moment. You're telling me i need to fret both the string im picking at, and the string im fingering?

Try playing some ac/dc like back in black note for note, youll find its not so easy to do....

also try tool, they have some very complicated intricate lines that are fun to reproduce, and of course anything by janes addiction!!

yeah but using a pick for the low notes and your fingers for the high notes when your playing the parts that he plays two notes at once.

I thought he plays the low note with one finger and the high note with another finger so you fingerpick both notes at the same time.

Meh, i just use a pick and play the root note if it's supposed to be finger/hybrid picked.
