Ok its that time again *drum roll* for absinthes dumb ideas!

Im thinking this time I wanna build an octaver pedal, but heres the selling-point...

Instead of a normal metal backing, I wanna put a piece of plexiglass (cut drilled and sanded to size) then sandblast the inside of it, and instead of a single LED Ill put 5-10 (how many do u think would be non-wasteful but bright?) inside so the whole thing lights up like a disco floor.

Also, would it be tough to somehow get it to switch colors? like flash between yellow and blue?

Now my question is... how hard are octaver pedals? and do you think my dumb idea will work?

Thanks!

Absinthe

how many pedal idea threads have you made and then never built any? umm alot! haha. well yea good luck.

lol ive built all the ones ive talked about and a few others i havnt, and the thunderchief one the parts are STILL in the mail, its been a week.

im only making a thread on this because im wondering how many leds u guys think id need, and maybe get some input on octave pedals, they seem pretty nice and simple, but so did my ex.

Im gunna be using that one, ive heared good things about it. Im just having trouble finding the MPS-A18 and the uf capacitors.

edited: its fun now that im starting to understand how this stuff works, but there are still a few things i havnt gone over.

uF=mF

polarized (electr.)
non-polarized (mylar film)

^-for those caps, use polarized when it has a + next to the capacitor, and mylar film when it doesnt have the +.

go crazy with the LEDs (lots) but make sure theyre a ceperate circuit as not to mess with the pedals resitance (i know that isnt exactly how it should be said, but you'll probabally get my idea. im crap at electrical terms) and make it wall powered only so you dont have to worrie about batteries.

Also I think an octave UP pedal would be better (hell, i'd buy it)

No I dont wanna have to change the battery every time i play it, and I know how to set them up separatly, I found a nice site all about making LEDs flash, run, ect.

EDIT: I just ordered it for 5 leds violet, 5 of yellow, and it flashes back and forth between the two
