and how long should i wait before i begin sanding it if i do.

hmm thats what i was thinking.. but its a pretty thick piece of goo on the bottum. i dont know how long it would take for that thing to dry cus i dont want it to be still wet in the middle when i sand it. does anyone know how long i should wait?

wait till you know it is good and dry(depends on the paint but it would be good to wait a day ?) . then sand it flat and paint over it . multiple light coats, prevents runs.
