I just recently got my floyd rose setup on my guitar and set back to standard and when i try to drop the fine tuners so I can play in drop D i get D#. Is there anyway for be to be able to play in drop D on a floyd? would i have to retune the gutar?

negative, you dont have to mod it in any way. what you do need to do, is before you tune, screw the fine tuner on the low e all the way down, then tune it. if you want to drop d, you just unscrew the fine tuner till your in d. works like a charm.

Or, better yet, you could just unlock the nut and tune to drop d normally..

and use the fine tuners to regain pitch.
I enjoy a hearty roast dinner...

You might have to do a little bit of work to get the bridge level and even and everything, but it's nothing too complicated.
