is there a way to use a mixing program on a computer to work as an actual standalone recorder?

like...say i have some cakewalk software, and i want to record a live track with my band, is there a way i can put a couple of mics that go to the computer to work as seperate tracks in the software? i tried explaining that as best i could lol, thanks

Sure. You just have to assign the tracks in Cakewalk to record from two different inputs.

ex. Mic 1 > Input 1 > Track 1
Mic 2 > Input 2 > Track 2

Could I get some more talent in the monitors, please?
