Should I get VOX ($250) or Crate ($225)? I play metal, and some rock, so what amp is better for it?
By the way, are DR strings good?

Vox. Vox is a really decent amp for its price. Stay away from the crates, there tone is pretty horrid.

Then for metal and rock, I don't reccomend either. I reccomend a Roland Cube 30. A lot or people will say the same, some will disagree and say that VT's can do metal as well as Cubes. I don't think so, myself.
These go to eleven...

If your going to do metal, then either get the vox with an extra pedal orget the Roland Cube

VOX's are way better then any chity Crate Amp. And if you dont get the the tone you wont buy a pedal.
