What are some great metalcore bands?

I listen to As I Lay Dying, Trivium, All That Remains...

Mostly bands that have clean sung choruses with catchy melodies to them.

Any suggestions for other bands?

in flames metalcore? wtf, they're melodic death.

Although they don't really have "catchy clean sung choruses", Unearth and Darkest Hour, imo the best metalcore bands, 2 of the few that don't sound insanely generic.

In Flames has Take this Life, which is a crazy catchy chorus.

I didn't say in flames don't have catchy choruses, i said they arn't metalcore. At the risk of sounding cliche - listen to the older albums (Jester Race, Whoracle, Colony, Clayman). Whilst Reroute and Come Clarity were alright, and not as bad as they were largely made out to be, the songwriting really doesn't compare as well to some of their older stuff, although Come Clarity was definately a step in the right direction.

I guess so.

But then how is Norma Jean metalcore and not hardcore?

growling vocals, not a lot of fast drumming, breakdowns every where, tuned down guitars.

underoath is metalcore?

Also, I am really into melodic death metal (in flames, arch enemy) so any bands like that is great too.

Bleeding Through
Fight Paris
1: Everyone is a little emo...
2: No I'm not!
1: I can prove it, do you watch porn?
2: Yeah...
1: Well, do you like the guy w/ the little flimsy c*ck?
2: Nah, I like a big hard throbbing wet c*ck and...
1: See, eveyone is a little emo inside.

blahblahblah

Avenged Sevengay? Very original remark there.
...
Avenged Gayfold is better.

Thread starter, try this. Of course doesn't mean all are good...

Not metalcore but I think you should check out Darkane for some catchy choruses

Between The Buried and Me is not metalcore. There more like a progressive metal band and there so many different influences in their music ranging from hardcore to even death and black metal that you can't really put them in a category

sumbody seriously needs to make a FAQ about all the ____xcore things. because BTBAM is definately not metalcore. on the other hand himsa puts the awesome in metalcore. if you want catchy choruses listen to atreyu. theyre kinda metalcoreish because of their hair metal influences, and theyre choruses are definately catchey and clean. listen to bleeding mascara by them. old a7x is pretty good. new a7x not so much. trivium definately. it dies today is pretty good. every time i die is only sorta metalcoreish but they tend to have catchy choruses. maybe even shadows fall even though im not really a fan of them.

Walls of Jericho hardly ever have clean vocals and it's only on the new record, and Candance didn't manage to pull it off very well.

oh god, you're soooo witty! 'SEVENGAY' oh god, did you come up with that all by yourself? It's very good

Anyway, ignore this jerk. Atreyu's latest album is very good IMO, as is 'Waking The Fallen' from Avenged Sevenfold

I'm not very good with all the sub-sub-sub genres, but I guess these fit with what you're saying.

Katsumoto (Can be found on Myspace)
Contra (Myspace as well)
Silent Civilian (And again, Myspace)
The Black Dahlia Murder
As Blood Runs Black
Job For A Cowboy
Shadows Fall
The Bled
Bleeding Through
The Dillinger Escape Plan (Mayyyyyybe. Big Maybe)

The only other catchy metalcore band i can think of not mentioned is Haste the Day. You might like some of the Agony Scene's newer stuff as well.

and for melo-death, you might like the Black Dahlia Murder.

They're not talking about hardcore punk, they're talking about "hardcore." It has little in common with its roots in the '80s.

Id agree with pretty much all bands on this list, the bands i like(even though most have been posted)
Evergreen Terrace
AILD
Unearth
It Dies Today
If Hope Dies-i dunno if you could consider them metalcore
OLD A7x
Bleeding Through
God Forbid i guess
August Burns Red - probably one of the best newer bands
Acacia
Norma Jean
Shadows Fall
Autumn Offering
and although i hate to do it Trivium in some songs/riffs have a metalcore sound.

but if your looking for melody and i know they arent metalcore or hardcore but Killswitch Engage has some very melodic choruses and riffs if your looking for that sorta thing.
I'm way better than you.
