Alright looks like Jackson just put out a new guitar not to long ago, or at least I haven't seen it on musicians friend for too long, but why and the hell is it so much cheaper than the DKMGT?

...Both are made from Alder and both have EMG(81/85)

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Jackson-DXMGTRRM-Dinky-Electric-Guitar-WEMG?sku=512247 (DXMGT) - $399

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Jackson-DKMGT-Dinky-with-EMG-Pickups?sku=512241 (DKMGT) - $699

Maybe its just be but I can't see where the DKMGT is worth $300 more than the DXMGT, other than it has that carved archtop body.

The only real difference that i can see is in the aesthetics, the DKMGT comes in black and has the machine heads all on the one side of the head =S

Ibanez RGR08LTD BK
Behringer TU-100

The DK you have is old, from when the DX series only had Hz's, and there was a price premium to reflect the pickup difference. They upgraded the pickups on the new DX's, and didn't raise the price much. So now the old DK series seems like a really bad deal in comparison.

i think it's wrong on that site... the reason why DXMGT is cheaper is cause it has EMG-hz pickups, while the DKMGT has active EMGs. check out the jackson website...

the picture on MF shows it has emg-hz's and i have the guitar and it came with hz-h3's and they werent that good

The DXMGT is not on the Jackson site, I looked unless I missed it of course. So, you guys saying its just a typo on Musciansfriend's part, and that the DXMGT really comes with EMG Hz's instead of the 81/85 as they've listed?

Again, to me it just looked to good to be true when I saw it.

No kidding, the DX used to have HZs... I'd guess it's a typo.

I have this guitar and I love it. This thing simply screams metal and can do anything you want it too.

It comes with the EMG Hz's not the 81/85's

Im pretty happy with the pickups, for stock pickups that is.

Great guitar though. I got mine off of ebay for 200.
