I have a fender strat, on the g string 8th fret i get this buzzing sound. I think its because its hitting the ninth fret, but have no idea how to fix it.i dont have this problem anywhere else. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Bring it to a tech. He'll have to fix your neck or at least file down the fret.

try raising the action a little. Also, check for neck-warp. that can be fixed by adjusting the truss rod.

I believe you're supposed to press down a string at the first and last fret, then measure the distance of the string from the 8th fret, and then adjust the truss rod accordingly till it's within spec. However, I don't know the distance it's supposed to be from the 8th fret, so ask someone else

thanks, but how does one adjust the action?

It depends on the bridge of your guitar.

What kind of guitar do you have? Or better yet, what kind of bridge?

take a tiny allen wrench and turn these two screws. lower the screws to raise the string a little.

no need to file anything, bring it to a tech, touch the neck and he said it was a strat.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.
