How does Satriani get/control the feedback in the intro to Flying in a Blue Dream? Anybody know? Is he just using the whammy or does he fret notes?
what is the music theory and what does it teach you, like scales, solos, and to build speed???

I think he hits a high e 7th fret natural harmonic and fades in and messes with it with the whammy bar

That was nuts......... but I think he may be using some feedbacker pedal ??
Tone is all ...... well probably 75%, in your fingers.
The rest depends on your wallet's thickness !!

When you watch him it looks like he is fretting a chord and just fadeing in after the feedback has built up and messing around with the whammy bar.

Something to do with volume swells, I'd imagine.

And the relevance of that would be...
He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt.
He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice.

Playing with your teeth is a pain in the ass if you have braces
